After I arrived at Narita International Airport at 23:00, I stayed overnight in a couch of the airport. On the next day, I headed for Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. The temple is famous and popular among Japanese and I was eager to go some day. When I arrived at the temple, there were only few visitors in the temple. I felt a bit uncomfortable at first, but I enjoyed strolling in their quiet garden behind the temple ...

... Burberry, and Tiffany (yeah, like I'm one of those who would go get a diamond necklace while waiting for my flight! 😞) it was a bit tempting just to go in and check stuff out but my conscious did knock some sense into me. If I'm not buying or can't afford to buy, definitely best just to look away. The one interesting thing that I found in Narita is that they have big signs directing people to prayer rooms. ...

We ended up leaving Denver almost 2.5 hours late. Impressively, we were only an hour late arriving in Tokyo. Despite having over 30 minutes to catch the next flight, United pulled our bags and rebooked us on a midnight flight. This was not terrible, certainly better than losing our luggage or having to handle the rebooking ourselves. The only catch was the new flight departs from Haneda airport, a solid 70 minutes across Tokyo. I'm writing this from the charter bus that ...

... ramen lunch, and then it was off to the airport. just like that, the trip to japan was over. final thoughts: japan is an extremely clean county. more immaculate than singapore. the japanese are also super friendly. they appear to go out of their way to ensure you're satisfied. maybe it's because I'm a foreigner, but I have a feeling they'd do it for their own. I still don't understand the whole facemask ...

      OVERNIGHT IN NARITA

A travel blog entry by rnvatraveler on Jan 15, 2013

... Next stop was baggage claim, was not a happy camper about claiming luggage, as I was told I wouldn't have to claim luggage in Narita, but because they booked me on a different airline that's why I needed to get my bags. After claiming my bags I moved to Customs, "nothing to declare". The customs agent helped me put my bags more efficiently on my cart, and then said "ok to exit". I then proceeded to the Foreign Land of Japan. I did find some people from my flight, I realized I ...
