      ... out to find the ‘Express’ bus to the park. To be clear, we had already traveled:

      • 15 minute shuttle ride from the hotel to Shinjuku station.
      • 20 minute train ride from Shinjuku station to Tokyo station.
      • 90 minute shinkansen ride from Tokyo station to Nagano station.
      Now we needed to take:
      • 45 minute bus ride to Kabayashi Onsen stop.
      • 30 minute hike (up the mountain, through the woods and snow and mud) to ...

      ... the floor.
      Our room overlooks the train line and Nagano train station, so we get to see the trains come and go, even the Shinkansen.
      We take a walk around the area and find a supermarket to get some breakfast supplies.

      What a great nights sleep in a real bed. We both slept really well and the noise from the trains did not bother us at all. Opening the blinds reveals a magnificent day with nothing but blue sky and ...

      ... of the slope and sat back completely horizontal and started picking up speed, came through the slow down flat section at about Mach 3 hit the steep snow slope at the stop zone, went up it like a ski jump and over it and ended up in some plastic signage on the other side.       ... finally got down to the bottom and re-charged in a really cool vegan restaurant called Roots. We said goodbye to Adam and then off for a final afternoon of family skiing and the kids were amazing. Sinead also managed the Olympic downhill section and the by the time Sinead gave up with 30 mins after a couple of nasty falls, the kids carried on with about 5 back to runs. ...

      ... finished up with 2 knackered kids. Sinead had left the video recorder on the table in the restaurant and went back and there it was surrounded by hundreds of students. Great culture in Japan.

      We got back to the resort and the kids played with their Aussie mates and we enjoyed some adults beers and 2 for 1 burgers followed by Mt Fuji chocolate lava cake which parents didn't get a sniff ...
