This place is all about cheap accommodation for right in the city. It had a shared bathroom and toilet and generally dorm style double beds. He prepared for three stories of stairs with your luggage and not finding the place as the sign is one foot by one foot big.

We planned to leave Genova on the 12.56 pm train so we could have a relaxed morning with Julian and Alex. We had breakfast together and spent time updating photos. Nona (their grandmother) arrived. It was lovely to see her again. We made some sandwiches for the train, packed our last bits and pieces and …

... which is one street back from the beach. Also right next to the police station - a boon or a curse, depending on how you look at it. Rolling into Nice at about 11pm and it was still really bustling on Saleya- must just be the European style of eating later, or perhaps people are still on winter holidays and practising for New Year's Eve tomorrow night. In any case, we weren't in the mood for staying up and hit the hay pretty quickly. Next morning and ...

... We searched for the trip continues, things seem to be getting a little more difficult...very few people speak much English, or so they say! We finally ate some breakfast and headed for the train. We discovered that our train was not in the main part of the station as we had assumed, so there were a few tense moments as we had to search a bit for it...but we boarded in plenty of time. The train was probably the most luxurious we have traveled ...

... around a while just exploring before more or less arbitrarily deciding on a spot to drop our towels and hop in the water. The beaches here are all covered in smooth rock which makes it rather difficult to walk around, though on the other hand a little funny to watch other people walk around in. The water was cold but in a good way, and we swam around for a while before just lying in the sun. Again, lying on rocks, not super ...
