Days 8-10: Olsztyn
Stop number three was Olsztyn. We had picked this city as it is right in the "Thousand Lakes Area" of North Eastern Poland with the hope of doing some kayaking/canoeing & jumped on the train there from the coastal city of Gdansk. Whilst there we were lucky enough to have a couple of local guides to show us around this somewhat sleepy place.

... kuhu sind lausa oodati. Suured parklad, kus on piisavalt ruumi. Eraldi ülisuur ja praktiliselt tühi parkla matkaautodele ja karavanidele. Pilet küll 25 zlotti, aga selle eest oli ruumi küllaga ja valvega parkla. Esmajärjekorras tegime ühes murjamite restoranis kebabid ja supid. Õlut seal usulistel põhjustel ei müüdud, aga seda lubati üle tee olevast letist tuua.
Ja siis võtsime suuna Marlborki kindlusele. Väidetavalt hakati ...
Der dritte Tag
... ziemlich herumgeirrt, fahrender weise, denn zu Fuß wollten wir nicht wg. der Sachen auf den Bikes.
Schließlich weiter zu unserem Ziel für heute, hinein nach Masuren, über z.T. sehr schöne Straßen, aber mit Kälte und manchmal Regen.
Hier haben wir jetzt aber ein ziemlich luxuriöses Hotel gefunden, das gibt die nötige Erholung.

The BIG Day
... champagne and then sit down to our meal. Halfway through the meal we are led to another room for 'mead tasting' where the translator helps a local guy explain how he makes mead from honey and we all get to try various strengths of mead. Yummy.
We have another day to recover and then its back on the road. We have to go back to the Mlyn at some point although perhaps during the summer next time.....

Good Bye to Poland
As our stay in Poland came to a close, we slowly said good bye to all of our family and friends. We had a number of farewell dinners with Ciocia Niusia, and Ciocia Ela and her sons Maciek and Michal. We also went to Zabiele with Wujek Antek to say good bye to Babcia, and spent two more awesome days on the farm. It was bitter sweet time. We had ...
