The walkway along the river brought us directly to the Old Town (Alstadt). The main street (Getreidgasse) held many different shops ...

Its purpose was to house Hitler’s political opponents and very soon it became a theatre of unforgettable dehumanisation and suffering. I spent a very silent morning working my way through the museum exhibits ...

... He was born in Salzburg & as you travel around the city, you can see his house, his mother's house, ....... He dies at 35 (a pauper due to gambling & big spending) after creating 600 compositions.
The fortress (HohenSalzburg) looks over the city. It is the best condition medieval fortress in Europe as it has survived without natural or wartime damage. We will attend a dinner & concert there Friday night. ...
