... drink and nibble before we ate too. Sue had cooked a beautiful chicken dish for all of us and we enjoyed some nice wine, limoncello and desert wine before setting off the last of the fireworks. The kids went to bed and we watched the last event (and only event we watched), the 4 x 100 mens relay with Usain Bolt in it of the Commonwealth games in Scotland. Tomorrow we are hoping for good weather so we can go and visit the nearby beautiful lake...fingers ...

Drove into Ulm, a lovely "small" city. Walked around the Ulm Munster - amazing Gothic cathedral with the tallest spire in the world (161 metres) and then had a look inside. Plain and poorly lit but still impressive, with lots of "crests" on the walls. Sat in the square after admiring the beautifully decorated Rathaus, built 1377-1877. This was also the birthplace of Albert Einstein, although he left as an infant. Missed seeing "his" fountain. Drove to Friedrichshaven, ...

... because Ric was in the toilet- Bryan's fault - he encouraged him. We arrived walked around town and looked at the duty free shops while Ric and Bryan went for a ride. Annabel bought some stuff and lovely dinner in the hotel restaurant. Beautiful local produce where Sues local treat was bresola a dried beef and salad. This little place is really interesting as it has the alpine village feel but is obviously the shopping Mecca of the area with all the designer goods ...
