... market, but we only had one night there, barely enough time to enjoy the atmosphere. Compared to other markets and such, we found shopping was better in Innsbruck compared to Munich. Swarovski crystal originated here and so that was also a big shopping draw. Their most recent orb for Christmas is exquisite!
While in Munich, I took a side trip without Jon to Salzburg, Austria. I've always wanted to visit Salzburg ever since I saw the "Sound of Music". Our ...

... since September and won't reopen until May so the tour groups had to get there crystal fix at the store in Innsbruck. It is really quite a large store with some magnificent pieces.

Innsbruck looks so different with the market. I completely missed the Golden Roof the first day we were walking around. It changes the context of the square so much.

I have been along this road quite a few times now in the passed and so know
it well or so I thought I did.
I stopped at a roadside parking bay and took a few more shots of the Alps
and really thought that was the last and as from there I raced on as fast as I
      could along this great road.
It sure is good now to be back in the more civilised country's of Europe. I
feel so much more safer riding here than those ...

The Alps and Skiing on a Glacier!

After leaving Venice, we hopped on a train which took us to Innsbruck, Austria. This is in the Tirol area in the south western part of Austria. We stayed the night in Innsbruck, and made our way out to Kaunertal the next morning. Innsbruck was the first place that we were able to catch a glimpse of the Alps! These ones weren't snow covered, because they were not very tall. The closer to the glacier we got the more snow we saw! However, ...
