With a day off in Frankfurt before we pick up the motor home for our European adventure, we took the opportunity to visit my nephew Marcus, his wife Hanna and son Matts. Marcus works for Barclays Bank in Frankfurt, and lives in Darmstadt. We had a pleasant day, catching up with Marcus and family, and Hannah's family who we had met at their wedding in December 2013.
On Saturday we decided to go to the annual travel expo in Mannheim at the marketgrounds. It has really warmed up and by that I mean up to 12 degrees! Considering that two weeks ago it was -3 degrees, that is a big difference. All the snow is gone and you can walk around quite pleasantly, although it was pretty windy.

... day. I had my first week of block week, which means that I have just been learning about the hotel industry. It is interesting and boring at times because it has to do with a lot of statistics and of course plenty of new words. Who travels from where, to go where, with what, for how long and why! At least I know the difference between a 3 star and a 5 star hotel now!
... or the gardens, one has an amazing view of Heidelberg, the Neckar River, and the Neckar valley far into the Rhine plain. On a clear day, Mannheim is even visible on the horizon.
