      Nous nous sommes levées de bonne heure. Petit déjeuner et ensuite direction la Mazurie, c'est-à-dire la région des lacs. Il y en aurait plus de 4000, dont certains de 100 km² et ceux-ci sont reliés entre eux par une multitude de canaux et de rivières.       Hit the 2000 mile mark today North of Warsaw Still without a map of Russia but we bought the other essentials (wine, shampoo, vodka and brioche). Using the trusty compass to get by and shaking it when it doesn't agree with us! At least we are driving through beautiful countryside with lots of storks, wherever we are heading. Heard from another team that it took them 5 hours to get over the Russian border so trying to get there early with our camping ...

      Shortish ride her yesterday,through pine forests,and very quite roads,it was stunningly beautiful. 270 miles,arriving at our gorgeous hotel,all marble reception,very plush,private parking for bike, Our room had its own private balcony. Last nights meal with wine and beer cost about £7.00. We are travelling into Lithuania ...

      ... to have a look around, and ask her questions about it all (with Krys translating of course). It was a tiny mosque, but rich in history, which was quite fascinating.       So a better night's sleep on the train (in an actual compartment and no random lock on door), we were up way too early becuase unfortunately our train was hours delayed :( Of course they probably said so on some announcement we can't understand!
