Brought brekky this morning at the Cologne railway station because we discovered they have lovely yogurt and muesli. Then we went shopping. I bought a pair of German shoes, made in Hamburg, for $52! Rosanne bought a very comfortable pair of new season shoes for a little more. He is a Bulgarian engineer who is working in hospitality to improve his English language skills, so he can get a job in IT here in Germany. Found unbelievable bargain at a 5* Hotel. & couldn't resist. To put it into context the breakfast cost 50% of the room rate! We didn't have breakfast! Even better, parking was also extra but as GG was too tall for their underground car park, we had to park with the smart cars in front of the Hotel at no charge. Hilarious!

We got to Cologne and found our way to the hotel. I was expensive, but it is a really nice room. I am very happy with it.
Chas was having trouble finding a place to eat. He did not want a beer hall so I looked online (we have great ...

... it was finished in 1880. It is a Gothic cathedral made of sandstone. One of the three organs is called the swallow's nest organ as it hangs from the nave. The gorgeous murals with gilt are from the 14th century and were entertainment for the people of that era who mostly could not read. The windows were beautiful as well with many representing Christ and His teaching and Saints and Apostles. One window, ...
