As I write this I have been home for two days. So what were the highlights and lowlights of the trip.
Far and away the highlight of the trip was watching Sean play with Makoto's band. The sheer joy I feel when I watch him playing music with these guy's is difficult to express even for a talented wordsmith like myself. ... while the little girls lay in the sun chattering like old ladies. It makes my heart smile to think if what good friends they are becoming - it is just such a gift. Walking a little further we saw some horses in boarding paddocks and the kids got to feed them some apples.
A couple of other fun Australian little known facts:
- see this funny little road arrow? look how they put raised reflectors on them....it's hilarious to us as Canadians because the plow would whip those off in a heartbeat!
