Friday 3rd July

From Austria it was just a short hop into Germany, back into Austria and then Germany again. Salem is not far from the Bodensee, the large lake bordering Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The campsite is lovely and quite busy. The weather is hot with temperatures in

The countryside is flatish with gentle hills created by glacial terminal moraines from the ice age. Fields of corn, wheat and barley are ...

Last Hike

Patrick promised something special for our last day, and as usual, he didn't disappoint. With rain predicted for the early afternoon, Patrick was keen to get on the mountain early. I still can't believe I'm doing ...

Blue Sky Day

... to take home (pity about customs) and Elizabeth made a tea for us all to try. It was delicious, and very thirst quenching. It was a lovely way to spend the afternoon after a very strenuous morning. We once again got back to our rooms with just enough time for a shower and a nanna nap (Bob) before our customary 4 course meal for dinner. And as it was David's birthday, there was also birthday cake to finish with. I think I will return home like Benny the ...
