... experience...

Today the wind blew and blew, fortunately it was behind us. We flew through the first 10km until a slight misjudgement meant we had to retrace 100m, the wind was so strong it nearly took us 5 minutes to do so.

We stopped for a hot choc and brownie around 12am at Lauwersoog, tactically dodging a rainstorm and giving us time to look over the long route that lay ahead. Today was ...

Had breakfast with Horst then went into work with him. Walked to the railway station and bought a day regional ticket for 2 people for 23 Euro. Off to Bad Zwischenahn. It is a 50 minute ride. We walked around the city centre and ate the local Ammerländen bratwurst in brot with mustard. Then walked for 3,5km partly around the Zwishenahner Meer (lake). We viewed the 1870 ...

The bike paths here are amazing, and so many people use them. They have them on both sides of the road so you only have one way traffic. Lots of E-bikes. Sunny and warm but not too hot for most of this visit.

Arriving in the Netherlands

Arrived on time and bought a Dutch sim card for my phone. I'll be here for a while and lots of people to contact and it will be handy for transport apps to have a bit of data too. Then off to get a transport card for travelling on the trains and maybe buses too.

I found the right train with one change at Zwolle and then Rosa met me at Groningen train station.

It is great to be here and it is sunny and warm!
