It is obvious as you ride through Coriano that Simoncelli was well loved. Flags fly from the lamp posts and there are several memorials in the town to him. The race track at Misano - just up the road has also been renamed after him. A fitting memorial for a very memorable rider and character.

... had a week of relaxation, and thankfully, we managed to get a couple of days with great weather – one day was a great walk from the main village which was located at the highest inland point on the island down to the coast, and the second nice day, we hired a car and drove around the island. One of the highlights of the walk was a visit to the Lion of Kea which is a rock formation which looks like a Lion, but I think that there has been a bit of enhancement. ...

... the Ducal Palace (though why she needs alcohol when she is so high on art remains a mystery!) and then returned to the hotel to relax and freshen up before dinner.

Tomorrow we move on to Parma (famous for its cheese) by way of a four hour taxi, bus and train trip. The actual travel time is much less than this, but of course you have to allow for connections etc. Meanwhile, enjoy the blog and the photos ...
