... today or no longer in business. We then proceeded on to the tiny sovereign state of San Marino. The "republic" is only 20 square miles in size. We drove directly to the top of the mountain on which the old city (citta) rests. The Citta has a spectacular view in all directions. ... waters. There were plenty of oil rigs scattered about in the distant water. There was a haze in the distance limiting visibility. After a bit we walked our bikes back to the path and continued on towards the lighthouse on the pier at the marina.

... of the mosaics look like paintings. The tiles themselves range from a quarter inch to half inch for images of religious figure. Larger tiles for floors. The size and number of mosaics is really impressive and must have taken a long time to complete. Kathy took a lot of photos of the sites we visited.

... This cathedral is up there with York Minister. A good experience and very well maintained.

I mooched around the shops a little. It is odd because there are the high end Prada, Louis Vitton, Gucci etc shops which are just unafforable for normal people and then there were the Glasson equivalents. There didn't seem to be anything in between.
