We drove directly to the top of the mountain on which the old city (citta) rests. The Citta has a spectacular view in all directions. ... of the mosaics look like paintings. The tiles themselves range from a quarter inch to half inch for images of religious figure. Larger tiles for floors. The size and number of mosaics is really impressive and must have taken a long time to complete. Kathy took a lot of photos of the sites we visited.

I mooched around the shops a little. It is odd because there are the high end Prada, Louis Vitton, Gucci etc shops which are just unafforable for normal people and then there were the Glasson equivalents. There didn't seem to be anything in between.
