... and found myself in more lane ways with a vibrant African community- like being in an underground community separated from the daily life of Genoese. Back up to real world and went into restaurant across road from hotel. Fantastic spag marinara ( fruiti di mare) and zuppa pesce which was also a meal on its own- a huge bowl crustaceans and small mullet cooked in same tomato sauce as spag. We have lots of resources to help with the issues of the day(such problems) but I am so glad we had the stop in Gallarte, as the Italians we encounter are working or otherwise busy. Today was a glorious day! Beautiful sunshine, which became rather warm as the day wore on. Unfortunately I did wake up feeling off with a head cold. Soldier on! This morning we walked to Franco and Ester's and then went for a walk around the town. It is sad to see many houses empty. There are only about 500 people living in what used to be a busy little town. There is still a bank, which opens a couple of days a week, a hairdresser, a pharmacy, ...
