    Guignicourt to Xonrupt-Longemer 215 miles

    I'll go a long way for a decent scrabble letter. Kate suggested Sainte Marie aux Mines but if you are going to have an x, have it at the beginning. Which is how we find ourselves staring out over a lake in the Alsace region just outside Xonrupt-Longemer.

    ... a few months ago. La Table de Gourmet run by famous French chef Jean-Luc Brendel. Decide we will go there for dinner. What an experience! 7 courses of local cuisine matched with local wines. They gave us a printed copy of the menu to take away. When Guy mentioned to waitress that he had seen the TV show she also gave him a copy of the menu from that night tied with a red ribbon! Was very expensive but worth it. Our "Fat Duck" experience Sam! Yours will have to be good to top it! At ...
