    ... the church there are lots of paintings by famous artists around the world. Every year or so special artists have to come and keep them restored. We went to see St Francis' tomb, which was in the crypt and it was a bit spooky but amazing.

    ... gate allowing entry through the city walls, and gaze from the cliff tops to the Umbrian countryside. It is another clear, beautiful day and the views are magnificent! We pass several small churches along the way and enjoy the art and frescos. It is getting close to lunch so we wind our way to the main part of town to find a spot.     ... a Scottish couple (so nice to speak English again), a glass of wine in the town square, bought a bag from a girl whose best friend has the 'Taste of Italy' restaurant in Oslo.
    In beautiful sun, swam in the Lake then washed my hair to classical music in the beautiful camp bathrooms, before dinner out tonight -although we mostly cook for ourselves - " (ed. its better and cheaper....)
    So, that's it for tonight.

    ... the sale of the properties above ground. Making our way through the tunnels did involve some very tight squeezes with low ceilings but often opened up into large spaces many with openings onto the cliff face providing air and light.

    Once the tour was over we went into the Duomo museum which to be honest was nothing special but we had a wander around. We headed off towards pozzo di san Patrizio, a well dug between 1527 and 1537 after pope clement VII took refuge in Orvieto ...

    ... is a credit to those running it, and a totally and complete antithesis of where we were last night....and €16 per night versus €25 for the last dump, where I wasn't even brave enough to have one in case the crocs got me!
    Tomorrow, we may stay, it's so nice, but as always, will decide in the morning before we leave....
