... and was met by a monkey sat at my head height it gave me a bit of a scare! I didn't really realise quite how free to roam about they would be! The main attraction of the park is the onsen(hot water caused by volcanic activity) which the snow monkeys use to keep themselves warm during the harsh winters in Northern Japan. Apparently it is the only place in the world where monkeys are known to do this, and is subsequently often seen ...

There were no photos of the food except for the cakes. The others at the cafe said to order the sandwiches, so we did. When the plate came out, there were 8 pieces of sandwiches and we would just share the plate. Then three more plates of sandwiches tuned up. We ...

We caught the 9.09am Thunderbird Limited Express train bound for Toyama, arriving at 11.55am. We were supposed to spend a bit of time in Toyama before catching two other trains to Unazuki Onsen. Due to the impending Typhoon Vongfong, Owen decided that we should go directly to Kurobe to the ryokan. All trains will be suspended from 5pm today but Owen was not going to take the chance that it could be suspended earlier. A train had ...
