      Yay! So far, so good. We'll see tomorrow if Delta is as enthusiastic!
      We are in Madrid! Took the metro in to Sol station and we are spending the night at Hostal Centro Sol! I have stayed here several times. Great little place in the heart of the city - kilometro cero.
      One more chance at Spanish tapas, a glass or two of Spanish wine and then a pastry and a cafe cortado early tomorrow morning. Now I feel ...

      ... Lavapies, which was rather scruffy, but felt very friendly) and found a bar, and then a tapas restaurant to keep us going. Before bed we stopped off at the covered market near the Plaza Mayor, which was absolutely teeming, and grabbed a Sangria (Liz) and a Brandy (me). The girls texted to inform us that they were off out for a night on the tiles.....we haven't heard the details, but they didn't get in until 2.30am, so I am sure they enjoyed themselves!
