... 160; After dinner, we went to get the one thing we'd been hanging out for, especially in this hot weather - gelato! We found one store that had a very large range of flavours, starting with all different fruity flavours, to various chocolate and coffee flavours, to the bubble-gum type flavours which were primarily to promote cartoon characters. Culture day. Decided to go to the Kunsthaus museum where the Edvard Munch exhibit was. He is the artist that is best known for "The Scream." It was an interesting exhibit and he was fairly controversial during his career.

After looking at his exhibit we wandered through some of the old Masters and some Impressionists and a few Swiss artists.

We came home via the train station and stopped at IMAGINE and had a glass of wine and shared some appetizers. Nice day.

... we skipped our original plan for today which was a stopover at Mainau Island, a huge botanical garden on the German-Swiss border (supposedly like Buchert Gardens in Vancouver-which we haven't seen either). Instead, Chuck and I decided to show Sarah and Michael the Rhein Falls, just north of Zurich. It is the largest waterfall by volume in Europe, a mini Niagara Falls. It was pretty chilly ...
