In the morning I took the train to Zurich. I went to the Swiss National Museum. The Museum features Swiss history from its beginning to current time. The Museum was built in the 19th century, making it a unique process. The 19th century was generally the century of nations and nation-states. Over the years I've been drawn to catch many a city's Red Bus Tour (RBT) for reasons I've not hitherto contemplated. Today however it dawned upon me as to why. The RBT is simply the tourist equivalent of an 'executive summary'. A superficial overview highlighting the key points of interest for those who either don't have the time or possibly the inclination to delve deeper. The 90 minute Zurich RBT offered a sufficient mix of historical and contemporary data to satisfy this ...

... time in the loo because the lights went out on me - not a comfortable experience hunting for loo paper in the dark. Eventually realised that the tiny light near the door had to be depressed to re-activate the lights. Whew!! The funny thing was that the same thing had happened to Slasher. It was an expensive dinner, but enjoyable, even if the waitress asked if we wanted the service tip to be added to the credit card bill!

A walk back along the lake in misty rain and we were home ...
