And the teaching? I love it. Even my one class of 7 year old devil-children is growing on me. I consider myself lucky when the others talk about their kids' classes and of biting, scratching, bleeding and even barking, when all I've had to contend with (apart from the incessant 101 decibel din) are bouncing erasers and little Paola who won't utter a word.

When I'm back in my West Side Story retreat I've noticed I talk to myself less now, happy for the peace.

... Spain is staggering.
Virtually all the way south from Madrid to the Mediterranean sea, a
considerable distance let me tell you, is devoted to growing olives. Now I like
a virgin as much as the next bloke, but how much virgin olive oil does the
planet need? This is Europe’s version of a palm oil plantation. Olive farming
is monoculture on an industrial scale that has eliminated all the native flora
and fauna.

The bank says you can't pay for your NIE number unless....
.....you have an NIE number.

I'd actually run out of tears at this point and just smiled inanely as Montse led me out and we went and found a bank that did want my money. At this point I'd like to make it clear that we are talking about EUROS 9.36. Or 7.35. Or US$12.02. Or CAN$13.26..... Its not breaking the bank but it broke my will.

In what seemed no time it was time to get ready for our special lunch at a place called Bebate which is located high in a mountain. It was once a small village and now converted to a conference centre. the food entertainment and company ...

... Formentera. Dave says goodbye to the kids, but I will see them again at the end of my trip. They are back to school/ business and we are off Monday, the 15 th, to Tuscany via Rome.
