          ... We saw what we think are “Caiman crocodilus (spectacled caiman)” right in front of our campsite! There was a little territorial display to top off their performance and I was able to photograph a little of it. We had some heated discussion about whether this is a caiman or alligator or crocodile. We visited a protected site a few days later in La Mazinilla.           We actually were quite close to Barra de Navidad, Melaque and San Patricio so we took our bathing suits and headed there for a day. We have been to all of these places before but it was nice seeing them again.
