Melaque has become like a kind of American beach resort town during a Fourth of July holiday weekend. It seems that every hotel and inn is booked to capacity. There are tents in many parking lots and on the beach, and the streets are jam-packed with parked cars and buses. We now have an assortment of music coming from all directions and It seems that each music listener believes that he has the best music and everyone around him should know ...
... a card dealer and each time she dealt her cards, she hit the two fellows beside her in the ******. My description can't do the whole thing justice, but take my word, it was hysterical! Seeing all the talent on board, it would be cheaper for the ship to just use what they have here instead of hiring some of the entertainers! Dale said they should offer a video of that show. Tomorrow night will be a guest talent show. I'm sure it won't be nearly as ...
We are still in port in Cabo. We woke this morning, and boy is it hot here. I won't spend much time complaining about the weather, but it is HOT! Wow! We are taking things pretty slowly, relaxing and still trying to get things done. We checked into Mexico today, I got my Visa. My passport is really pretty full now. I am going to need new pages by the time I finish this trip! More boat chores, cleaning up and stowing and restowing things. We are ...
... about 8 miles east in a town called La Cruz. A vibrant town with a vast cruising community, La Cruz became yet another new favorite. We spent the next three days finding a surfboard, finishing Christmas shopping, and surfing in Sayulita, a beautiful, clean, picturesque beach town about 20 minutes away by bus. This lifestyle suited us really well, but eventually it was time to start packing and getting the boat ready for our 2 week trip back to the States for Christmas. We ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Hotel Villas Los Angeles Manzanillo
This was where the various branches of my family scattered across the US came for a Thanksgiving "reunion."
Hotel Villa Los Angeles is situated on a hill with a lovely setting. It has a fabulous view and the property is well maintained. The villas are clean & well appointed with flowers and a fresh fruit bowl upon arrival. It has 26 units and was quiet at night which was lovely when you sat on the deck watching the sun sink into the ocean. The pool is a good size and is cleaned daily. The hotel is located near the beach, restaurants and shopping. We walked to the grocery store and taxied back. Patricia and Michel are usually near by and are outstanding in helping direct you to a restaurant or tour guide. They make you feel welcome as though you are a friend visiting their home. Also, the staff is helpful and never acted put out when you asked for something! We loved the area and found the people to be warm and friendly.
What a wonderful hotel!
We had a wonderful time at Hotel Villas los Angeles. It is a small, high quality boutique hotel with friendly and helpful owners, who have a team of responsive and obliging staff. We stayed in the new villas which are extremely spacious, clean and well equipped. They all have amazing views, air conditioning and high speed internet. All in all, with the swimming pool and the nearby beach, this was exactly what we were looking for in terms of a long working, but relaxing vacation.
Truly a great location to relax and enjoy all the finest qualities of Manzinillo with the attentive hospitality of the owner, his wife and staff. In contrast with the isolated resorts, Villas Los Angeles offers wonderful opportunities to truly experience the best of this part of the world -- local cuisine at restaurants and from vendors, swimming, snorkling and diving from the nearby beach (and relaxing in the pool), and room to spread out and enjoy the view. The owner, Michel, gave good recommendations on shopping and getting about, which is easy by taxi -- he even helped get excellent cerviche from just the right place! Quite a contrast to a nearby resort where conferences are held. Perfect place to get out on your own, relax, and proceed at your pace.
I have visited Manzanillo many times over the years trying out different hotels until I found Villa Los Angeles. I've been back a few times now. During my last visit in August '06, I arrived from San Francisco, CA by way of Cd Guzman, Jal where I collected 10 family members to join me. When making the reservations, Michel and Soccoro were exceptionally helpful and patient answering my slew of questions and making their recommendation to ensure a memorable visit. Upon arrival and throughout our stay, everyone was sincerely helpful and pleasant.
My wife, two small children (boy/girl twins, age 71/2) spent ten days in mid August at Villas Los Angeles on the Santiago Peninsula in Manzanillo. The hotel was everything we could ask for and the owners Patricia and Michel were very gracious and went out of their way to accommodate us. Their recommendations regarding beaches, attractions and restaurants were very helpful and informative. The hotel itself is located on one of the highest elevations in the Santiago Peninsula and the views from the rooms are extraordinary. We had a suite (#106) with the kitchen, dining room and big balconies on the upper floor and the two large bedrooms (with Jacuzzi tub) and bathrooms on the lower level. The grounds are meticulously maintained and the rooms are very clean. The high speed internet connection in the room (which was important to me for keeping in touch with the office in California) worked like a charm - plug the computer in and you're on the internet. Bottled water was provided and bedding was changed daily. The kids really enjoyed the pool, with its waterfall, island and unique design and we could watch them from the comfort of the balcony.
Breathtaking views! Don't miss out on Hotel Villas Los Angeles!
We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend Villas Los Angeles to anyone! The photos on the site lured us, but they hardly do justice to how nice this place is! Our 1-bedroom villa was spacious and well-appointed, and a good value. The pool and surrounding patio area might make you forget to go to the beach. Stunning views of the bays and the city from our terrace and the pool area. The rooms and grounds were very well-maintained, staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. Owners and some staff also speak English. We hope to return again.
Just returned from a month's stay at Villas Los Angeles in Manzanillo, Mexico and it was an exceptional stay. The Villas are located on the Santiago Peninsula, on one of the highest spots, overlooking the ocean.
