Hotel Villas Les Goelands St-Jean-de-Luz

We arrived in Bordeaux in the dark but this time no cliffs and a nice bright campsite. It was 30 minutes outside of Bordeaux so we relaxed that night and went into town the next day. After another very nice lunch with Mr. Mrs. Audoin, we drove to the hotel where we would have services and the wedding. We had a brief rehearsal to make sure all the details were covered.

Several people drove in from other areas, Normandy and Poitiers, so we had a larger group than usual in Bordeaux. At 2:30 we had our Sabbath service. I gave a brief news update on things that had happened since the Feast ...

... at 2:00, before the start of services. The wedding will follow shortly after the service. Helen asked if we could have a cell phone on line to her church area back in Michigan, and I told her that would be fine, though I wasn’t sure how well they’d be able to hear.

I gave Mrs. Audoin a break from food preparation and had dinner at the hotel. It was pleasantly restful. The salad bar is wonderful at the hotel. Generally, the French put a lot of ...

... out, and from there one can locate the Arc de Triomphe, Sacré Cœur up on the hill and other landmarks.

Bon voilà on est à un mois de l'aventure, les préparations se font tranquillement.
On a pensé qu'un blog pourrait être sympa pour vous tenir informé de ce que nous faisons et où nous sommes, on essayera de poster des commentaires régulièrement et mettre des photos aussi.

Well, this will be my last entry. I was hoping to have updated more than i did, but i also thought i'd have far more internet than i did! Oh well, i think you've all got a picture of what it was like over here and i'm sad and ready to come back. here's a few more pics to leave you with and i'll be sure to let everyone see all 1,000 pictures we took! We spent our first day in Bordeaux relaxing and wandering around the city. Ate a few baguettes.

The next day we caught a train to St Emilion to check out the beautiful little village.

One morning all of the harvesters were out in full force. Thundering masses of machinery devour the rows and leave the poor vines shivering and stark naked in the sunlight. Each tiny stem stands alone wondering where it’s beautiful globe of juice has gone! The air is so thick with the smell of newly fermenting wine, you begin to wonder if ...

... to be done. They tasted like chicken, but with a very nice garlic and butter sauce. Back home with pizza and fish for tea, we drank some more wine, and watched NZ draw with Iraq 0-0, during which Liz and Dave dropped by to have a chat, and wouldn’t leave. By the time they took the hint and left, it was very late, and we all just crashed into bed, leaving packing for early in the morning.

... the only decision to make is what to do and what/where to eat on any given day. Ahh...complete biss.
