... evicted to make way for a small tourist port surrounded in a sea of beauty. Only problem with this boom town for tourism is the sea of unfinished buildings, the beautiful landscape spoiled by derelict buildings, a sign of money running out mid-process no doubt. Aside that the place was nice enough; I’m starting to see a theme though, these ports pushing aside traditional culture in favour of jewelery stores; a source for the economy ...

... 3 storied apartment , we are finding their home VERY quiet, being on our own, with Barb and Ken away in Glasgow.The weather is dictating our moves – some rain expected each day while were here, so going to just do what it lets us.After overnight rain we did wake to clearing skies so set off walking. Barb and Ken live in the Hamburg Farm Condos – the original farm was famous for the first Kentucky derby winner in 1898.

... line on the back until I saw it move. Turns out the sea lions catch a ride on the back of boats where people have been out fishing – they want a free feed. Then blow me down, along comes another boat with two sea lions on the back looking for a hand out. Luckily Doug was at the right place at the right time and managed to snap a photo.

Back on board, to the Patisserie … but no sandwiches. We got a Flat White to go then up to Horizon Court ...

... had decided they were going to be travel companions so here they were. Linda was Canadian and Susan an Expat from Canada with a dual residence in Mexico. Dan, a 38 year old single male, VA Tech graduate working in Arlington was there with his parents Don and Sherrie. Originally from Southern California but being ex-military the family had lived everywhere. Today Don & Sherrie are in Arizona while their 4 children reside on the east coast. ... head over to one of the swim up bar pools and don’t have to worry about fighting for seats. Our first pool has a bridge to hide under in case the rains come again, but they don’t.

The rest of the day we explore pools then head to one of the restaurants for a nice dinner.
