Today we had a very relaxed day at Lake Maggiore. It was only a 55 minute train ride away. What a difference a few kms makes. It is a very large lake, once again half Italian and half Swiss.
We arrived in the town of Stress. It was so quiet and peaceful I think it should be called De-Stresa.

... up going back to the beach a little disappointed that the guide hadn't taken us there first.
We had a late lunch and the boys share whole baked fish which was pretty tasty. After lunch we headed back for a spot of swimming in the pool, playing table tennis and a last BBQ together. After dinner we celebrated an early birthday for Ethan with a cake that Nathalie had arranged and Ben and Ethan traded birthday presents.

... art shops that featured big smurfs, old vintage posters of Italian fashion magazines and then of course the tacky souvenir shops with models of il Cristo (the statue).
Our hotel was right in the centre of town, literally with an entrance way into the main piazza, so we couldn't complain about the location! They also spoke very little English at reception, so I ended up speaking Italian all the time and happily was able to communicate with them asking lots ...
