    ... a false start, we cycled along the road, which was fine because it was reasonably quiet. The marina was a bit desolate. I think it is the type of place that only operates for two months of the year during the summer holidays so everything looked very shut up and dilapidated with rubbish strewn everywhere.     The birthplace of Archimedes(you remember the book Mr Archimedes bath) and chosen island for Mafia. There are quite a few mafia type souvenirs around the little shops, along with lava from Mt Etna, which was smoking satisfactorily when we were leaving.
