When Christianity took over, each obelisk was capped with metal and a cross to keep evil pagan spirits and demons from coming out.     ... have a spot open for you to toss a coin in, so we all did for good luck to return to Rome (we'll have to so we can see the Trevi Fountain at its best)! Just as we grabbed a taxi to head back to our hotel tonight we got a few sprinkles - perfect timing. No other rain spotted in the forecast, so we welcomed the slight cool down (in the low 80's the next few days). Tomorrow we have tickets to see the Vatican/Sistine Chapel/St. Peter's Basilica - can't wait to see everything that's in store! ...

    ... waiter on the ship. We all gave our approval! Monday 8th Day at Sea. We went to the dining room breakfast, met an Australian couple, joined Dee and Jack for the Port Talk, then met another couple while having coffee from New. Zealand who have moved to Nelson since their Redcliffs home was Red Zoned.     We flew over night from HK to Rome, arriving local time 7am. 45min airport transfer to our apartment. The driver was very nice, but did not speak much English. The apartment is beautiful.
