    Dominic and I awoke early and took a brief walk around the area of our apartment. Within just a few blocks, there are 3 or 4 magnificent churches tucked into the crooked neighborhood streets. Their grandeur is so deceptive. The facades are plain, but once inside, the space is magnificent, adorned with frescoes, sculptures, mosaics, and stained glass.
