A Week at Erice - International Conference in Neuroeconomics - June 16 to 20

Walked about at dusk. Stunning castle with a backdrop of the towns below and the coast. It was freezing. The rapidly shifting clouds and the dancing blanket of fog made the place all the more magical.

The day starts cold and heats up during the day, but never scorching, and daramatically cools again at night. The vista ...

I knew it would be cold out on the water but I regretted not taking my jacket (only had a cardigan) and regretted wearing sandals instead of boots. I had expected a boat with a cabin as well as being able to get out on deck. Instead we got a twin-hull boat with no cabin but a canopy over the deck that the wind rushed through. The cruise lasted 3 hours and by the second hour I was asking myself, "Are we there yet?". I'd had enough after ...

... his van for something obviously other than a lift, I politely declined and walked into the middle of the road to force the next driver to stop for me! Luckily he did, and luckily he was not dangerous or dodgy... It turned out I only had a couple of km to walk anyway but when I got there I realised 1, I didn't remember how to get to the bus stop, and 2, it was already nearly 8!

I walked down towards the sea and found the piazza petrolo, where ...
