... they even had fragments from cups for mass. They demonstrated the way in which the baptistery actually got the water too, by using this complex hydraulic system so the water was always fresh.
When we came back up from this a mass was going on and we realized why the areas had been closed off earlier.

Then we walked around for a while until our backs hurt to much and we had to sit and find a bathroom. So all ...

... in Venice, the city of love, in the wall! Like the one Amanda Seyfried discovered! So I found a little crack and shoved it in there; I created my own romantic moment. I figured Juliet wouldn't mind.

Also, if you haven't seen My Sassy Gay Friend's "Romeo and Juliet" on YouTube, I demand you go watch it now. I was simultaneously quoting that and Shakespeare's original text under my breath the entire time. It might just change your life. Or maybe just make you laugh.

The gods live on Olympus. I saw them. Aphrodite first. She was in the lower woods with the golden leaves dropping around her feet. Her beauty and the tree's complementing each other. A little higher and Apollo on wing was ascending the steep barren slopes with ease. Dionysius was pouring the wine at the refuge with all the hospitality Zuse him self would require. The next morning ...

    Hotel Villa Rosa - 'excellent'

    from JLMWorcester

We stayed for a week at Villa Rosa from 21st to 28th July 2007 and loved every minute. We cannot give a bad report about the hotel at all. Modern, very clean, (linen and towels changed every day) and very helpful staff. We paid for a junior suite with a balcony overlooking the lake and were chuffed to bits! Even the small pool never got over-crowded and we travelled peak holiday time. Breakfast was great and you can eat at the poolside at lunch time if you like although it's so close to the town, you don't really need to. Definitely recommended (for couples or families) and definitely going back!

Fantastic hotel - don't hesitate to book!

    from Paula_Andy

We stayed at the Villarosa hotel in Desenzano last weekend (Fri to Tuesday) July 07.

We booked the hotel, flight and car hire all separately online and saved a fortune. We we really impressed with the standard of the hotel and the location. It's right opposite the lake, just 5mins from the centre where you'll find lots of beautiful Italian buildings with ornate balconies, restaurants serving wonderful food in a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The prices were really good too, not at all expensive as you'd imagine at Lake Garda. A meal with a bottle of wine (for 2) cost us around 40 Euros, well worth it.

You can drive to Venice along the A4 motorway, which will take you about 2 hours depending on traffic. Be prepared for the toll though (you can pay by cash or credit card if you want to, but make sure you get in the correct lane!).

Overall, a fantastic long weekend and we can't wait to go back again!

Un hotel fantastico: prenotate subito anche voi!

    from Paula_Andy

Fantastisches Hotel - buchen Sie gleich!

    from Paula_Andy

    from ellen9421

    from Maddiemay

    Just Redone--wonderful

    from Maddiemay

Travelling with 2 other couples, we took a chance on this recently renovated hotel (there had yet to be any reviews written as the hotel reopened, I believe, just last April). It was very nice. the rooms were modern--beds comfortable. The pool and area around it were very pleasant. It's a "green" hotel and your hotel key card gets inserted into a slot inside your room in order to keep the lights and tv on. Rooms all have balconies, mini fridges, nice bathrooms and flat screen tvs. The breakfast was quite good--served from 7:00 to 10:00--cheeses, hams, yogurt, cereals, eggs to cook, lots of sweets, juices, and a great coffee machine! There is a very nice terrace/porch facing the lake with tables and chairs. The staff was very pleasant--the outdoor parking is free--or you can park in the underground garage for 5 Euros a day. The lake is right across the narrow street; there are lots of restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Stylish modern hotel

    from Charlie040

Stayed at the newly modernised Villa Rosa for one week, good location in fashionable Desenzano, loads of great places to eat espiecially Al Fattore .Good for couples, very clean , nice pool, air-con rooms, car parking , one down side we had to pay for the pool towel so........ BYO!! Everything you would expect form a 4* hotel

A pleasant and quiet place in March

    from anonymous

Stayed in the Villa Rosa with my sister for two nights (19-20 March 2005). The hotel is, like everything around Lake Garda, is trapped in the early 80's. Accordingly, decor is a little lacking (neon-blue theme has never been in) but the high ceilings and balcony were nice.

Hotel is clean, safe, quiet, right across the Lungalo street from the lake, and just a five minute walk from the center of town. The breakfast buffet is heavy on the sugary biscuit side and needs imporvement, but there is free internet in the lobby as a consolation prize.

For what we got, the hotel seemed a bit pricey to me, but its staff was always friendly and helpful (even printing off train sceduales). No serious complaints.
