... on internet and then back to the bar for more wine and tapas.

Sun 15
Did some chores... yes we have some, we are not totaly void of resposibility. Went to the supermarket to stock up on food and went to an Aire d'service to empty Theo (our Thescott cassette toilet). Enough of that and we were back in the walls checking out the Antiques Market and eating Gelati... YUM!!
Lucca, Tuscany, Italy darrenhough74... on the main street near our apartment and came across one which we hadn’t seen open before- it had beautiful looking pastries- why didn’t we find it before our last day? Actually, I didn’t think they were as nice as the French ones we had.
We had to pack our bags and get organised for the move out of the apartment.
Lucca, Tuscany, Italy kiama_on_tour... Coast without the roads, money or development. Caught the train to Monterosso Al Mare which was the most northern village which had pebbly grey beaches and large statues carved in the rocks. It was quite warm and you could imagine the beach could be crowded in summer as there were people sunbaking on the beach. We decided to catch the train to the Vernazza, the next town south to have lunch. This was a really pretty town, with houses lining the piazza which ...
Lucca, Tuscany, Italy kiama_on_tourJust realized those not on facebook haven't seen pictures from Pisa and Florence. No long recap of Anthony and I's weekend in Tuscany, for obvious reasons. Also note that "Anthony and Alison's Great Adventure" was like taking a knife.

Love you guys! :)
Pisa, Tuscany, Italy anthony.alisonWoke to a beautiful day so decided walk into Lucca along the street where there were markets. They were probably typical of markets everywhere with stalls selling clothes, bags, junk and also food. Us girls all bought a cheap bag and I also bought a knitted top which is made in Italy. The food was typical Italian meats and cheeses with a couple of things that were a bit different. There was some sort of very large ...
Lucca, Tuscany, Italy kiama_on_tour... called Easy Pisa, was a short 3.5 hour tour that took us by guided motor coach from Livorno to the center of Pisa. On the way, Elsie noticed a group of cyclists, riding toward Livorno, seemingly enjoying the perfect conditions for a Sunday morning ride! In Pisa, we had time to visit the Field of Miracle which includes the Leaning (Bell)Tower, Duomo, Baptistery of Giovanni and Camposanto. Surrounding much of Pisa are ...
Livorno, Tuscany, Italy ricknelsieAs the weekend was approaching in Florence, I decided to do like the Italians and skip town from the big city and enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere. That, and the fact that I just kept meeting people in Florence! On Thursday night, after meeting Marco during the day, I decided to do something ridiculous and go to a Mexican restaurant. After walking around in the warm sunshine all day I just wanted a margarita -- and not a margherita. ;) While there I met two folks. Betina was from ...
Lucca, Tuscany, Italy josiezim... in guarding the car and had a look around at the leaning tower. Sunny day and plenty of people about. Boy that tower sure does lean! Then all headed back to our campsite for a bite to eat. Walked to the nearby? beach for a look and the boys had a swim . . .
Lucca, Italy rippunzel... Idiot! Finally got to the top. Nice views ..... but probably not worth 15 Euros. But I guess it's one of those things that a tourist HAS to do in Italy. At the top, I saw a guy wearing the same pair of Gap cargo pants that I've got. The thing is, the pants are probably 6 years old. He must be cheap like me and can't bear to toss them out. On the way down the tower, I heard a couple describing the Battistero as the "nipple thingy". Interesting ... because ...
Pisa/Lucca, Italy pwong... to see her till we got to the house. Roz envisioned me running to her and yelling MAAAAMMMMMAAAA and crying.... It didn't happen, honestly!! Our first day here was pretty quiet, just settled in. We told Alex's mom we had got married before we left Canada, she didn't believe us ( I guess this will the first opportunity to tell everyone else -- we got married September 12 in Squamish, very small ceremony, Roz and myself, two ...
