... in the older part of Milan city. Enjoyed the best pizza we have ever eaten at Spontini's plus yummy gelato for dessert. On the way to Verona, just out of Milan, the coach was pulled over and inspected by Italian police and thoroughly checked our driver's documents. Today we went to Bassano with Giorgia (my niece) and her boyfriend John Marco. We had a refreshing spritzer drink on the old bridge (Ponte degli Alpini) in Bassano, toured the Poli grappa museum and then walked around the city while enjoying a delicious gelato. ... this time with the cyclists catching us as they freewheel most of the way down. For lunch, we stop in at McDonalds at Bassano, just a few hundred meters from our hotel, as a treat for the kids. Then it's time for a few hours of rest before tonight's family festa.

At 7.30pm we head out to a pizza restaurant in Valrovina to catch up with around 20 relatives and friends. After another great night with amazing hospitality, we head back to our hotel and get to ...

... made a horse ornament out of molten glass by shaping it with long tweezers - which was really impressive. The final thing that happened was another glass blower came out and blew a large, ultra thin bubble of clear glass. Wow we all thought, then suddenly he pops it on the workshop's concrete floor. As you can imagine it shattered into a million pieces with a massive pop, a poor little boy sitting in front of us nearly wet his pants! Workplace health and ...
