Today I bus to Frankfurt. I've been there before a long time ago when I worked for Penguins doing the book fair. I'd seen a little of the city then but it has grown in stature since and is more of a financial hub. It laden with foreigners it's not unlikeable though and has a lively atmosphere. Like Berlin there are some amazing smells around the city but also like ...

... May & Bernie from Toowoomba for dinner, the only other Aussies on the tour. Starter salad, main beef goulash and dessert apple strudel. Eric got everyone to introduce themselves and tell their story. We got missed, think he assumed we were May & Bernies daughter and son in law, lol! After dinner we had a quick look around Römerberg. ... around the children leaving burning rubber trails to get to the finish line. Don't mess with me on go-carts and a mission to win!

We also shot off on a ride where you're laying flat on your chest, all strapped in, and you're flying, visually fascinating to watch, however quite intense, especially the sharp upside down moves and jolts. Overall a fun day, ending with a bracelet marked "Best Friend" given to me by Lennix. I gonna miss this guy when I leave.

        9 Hour Jetlag in Frankfurt

A travel blog entry by poon on Apr 12, 2014

Had a beautiful, sunny day in Frankfurt for our 9 hour layover between Vancouver and Amman. Too bad we were both way too jetlagged to even have a beer, or apple wine. Or even a frankfurter!!! (No idea if that's even real.)

But we did get to walk about the city in the Romer area, which was pretty though slightly underwhelming for the fakeness of the "rebuilt" buildings.

So, in a foggy haze of wanting to sleep, but not ...
