... completely full by noon. Chris and I got there too early and sat on the benches critiquing everyone's shoes, clothing, etc..and just watching the men talk with their hands was so entertaining! I took a video..not sure it will post but truly hilarious. The parade was to start at 11 but being Italy, it was after 12. There were 3 big statues on platforms held up by about 12 strong young men. St Michael, the angel, and Christ were at one end of the street, and Mary was at ...

So I packed an overnight bag ...

Sicily was absolutely beautiful! Words cannot describe it and the pictures do it no justice. The first day we saw Monreale just outside of Palermo. It is a beautiful church with gold mosaics. Then we went to Selinunte which has a bunch of Greek temple ruins. Sicily is central in the Mediterranean and was taken over by everyone at some point. ...

... along with a complete explanation. Gianvicenzo has 7000 trees and the whole family is in the business. They pick the olives the old fashioned way..no nets, and the workers surround the trees with the baskets hanging from their necks while picking the olives with their hands...no rakes are used, no machines,,just hands. See the photos and explanations of the grove and surroundings. What a delightful day we had and tomorrow Chris and I are off to visit ...
