Our last few days in Sicily

... the kid's mother were devastated. After Segesta, my only chore for the day was to get some lunch on the way back. The kids have been homesick for the last few days and getting jack of travelling. Today, driving around in Paceco (the little town near the hotel) I reached my limit as well. It was just a frustrating experience. We were there as siesta was getting underway, the streets are too narrow and the other drivers too fast. None of the signs made sense to me and ...

    Scopello, Sicily: the real deal

... kill time in the town of Castellammare. Kids basically took turns napping in the car trying to stay cool. Sicily still respects the siesta and everything is mostly closed between 1-4pm. However I did find a grocery shop, which was amazing. Like a massive deli with amazing cheeses and meat. The first of many Sicilian shopping experiences. The massive amount of groceries ended up piled in the car around Grace and Mitchell's ears. Thankfully the house we had booked, ...

Około pierwszej ruszyliśmy z Selinunte w dalszą drogę, do oddalonego o 20-30 km miasta Mazara del Vallo.

    Gdańsk-Modlin-Scopello

A travel blog entry by aniarybicka on Aug 29, 2014

    O 14.30 dotarliśmy do długo ...

Segesta and Selinunte - Ancient Greek Temples

A travel blog entry by rona.puntawe on Jun 18, 2014

Sicily never fails to amaze with its ancient monuments. Segesta and Selinunte were a fascinating day trip. Both were built around 400 centuries BC, the earliest and most important Greek colonies in Sicily.

First stop was Selinunte. The Doric temple and the Acropolis were highlights of this most important ancient Greek colony in Sicily. We had to pay 6 Euros entrance. The bus had to pick us up from ...
