I'm starting to understand why people go to NZ and RAVE about the beaches.

Today I’m on my way to spend three nights on the 'Italian Riviera’, for my Easter break. According to Wikipedia, this area is "The Italian Riviera, or Ligurian Riviera (Italian Riviera ligure) the narrow coastal strip which lies between the Ligurian Sea and the mountain chain formed by ...

We set out from Tirano this morning to head south. The plan was to get to Genoa or Savona - but we had to tackle the Autostrada through Milan first. Sorry to say, no photo's today. We headed out of Mandelieu and our favourite French Riviera, popped into the shops to gather supplies and started our 3 hour drive to Italy. We constantly had the Med in view for the first few hours of our trek, straight road, tunnels and lots of bloody tolls. We crossed the border into Italy and the mountains came into view, and once again, villages and houses built into the sides of these ...

      Looking for Anna's

As a kid I had been to a small campsite outside Alassio with my sister and parents. On our first trip to Italy in our 1979 VW dub autocamper (with westfalia roof) we stopped here and I spent most of my time in the water with a mask, snorkel and fins. I have so many good memories of this place and I had wanted to see if I could find "Anna's" as the camp site was called back in the 1980's.

I had an early buffet breakfast at Mare Hotel and headed off ...
