Just when we thought Venice was the most beautiful place we would visit in Italy, Varenna may have beaten it into second place. Neither of us can get our heads round the fact that we are actually seeing what's around us. The apartment is amazing and the views from the balcony alone are worth the trip. Claire has also befriended a blind cat so we keep having to think of excuses to go and see the lady so Claire can rub the cat.
Where to start? Well, I'm sorry this update is a little bit late, I got caught up hiking in the mountains and just having an altogether great time and updating my blog just didn't manage to make its way to the top of my priority list. ... and Villach – having bought the vignette on entering Austria we decided to use the A10 motorway forgetting that there is an additional tunnel tax on some routes. It was a good call given the wet and snowy conditions.

This was quite doable as there were actually footpaths...well almost all the way. Again we were spoiled with scenery from the lake up to the mountains.
