... I also had pizzicchero, which is a local specialty type of pasta made with whole wheat and a cheesy sauce. We had seen them serving it at the restaurant at Colico on Sunday, but it's brown colour makes it look not especially appetising. Mine was cooked with vegetables (including chunks of potato like there was any shortage of carbs!), but was delicious and not heavy. The gnocci came with a garnish of tiny basil leaves, whole, not cut up. I think the basil must be treated with a growth regulator to get such a mass of tiny leaves.
