We have had a nice week in the house. Taormina, supposedly the most popular tourist location of Sicily, is an interesting place but I'm not sure I would come back, or certainly not for a whole week. The small town is set in a cliff top and parking, apart from the multi-storey car park, is impossible. It is around 12mn when Sam goes to sleep and I am awake until 1am, trying to update notes for this blog, as our days have been so full I have not had time to keep it updated. ... and off we went. At the end of town is a seven story car park that has literally been carved into the mountainside so once you get that far next is a lift up to the town itself. The views from the top are breathtaking.
As we were only here for the day we decided to just walk the full length of the town. Like all medieval towns you have the town arch or gates that the Romans were famous for building where ever they conquered. ...

We had a lovely day as we strolled around the streets and were delighted around every corner with a perfect picture or interesting sight. What a gorgeous town. Visited the Greek Theatre and the views from the top were breathtaking including Etna with snow capped peaks, the beaches & coastline below, cruise ships arriving for the day ...
