... been in with this much gold mosaic tile on the walls and ceilings! The bones of Saint Mark were originally in Alexandria, Egypt. There was a mob of Muslims that wanted to desecrate the site. After that it was a journey through security to 'back stage airport' to get all my documentation checked and matched with my bag and I finally got my bag back. ... I believe we had been walking for over 6 hours! When we arrived a our hotel, we decided a shower & nearby dinner would be excellent. We ate at a waterside Italian place about 5 mins from the hotel. We ate a delicious fennel & avocado salad, then pasta for our entrees. We awoke the next morning & got on the water taxi to go back to the Tronchetto to get the TTRS and continue our journey to ...

I think you would either want to do only 2 or 3 days there.....OR much longer (2-3 weeks) in the general area doing Venice and other things, such as time at the beach on the mainland and day trips to nearby cities like Verona.

I would most definitely return, however. ...

... pretty exhausted from a long day of walking at that point, so we took the ferry back across, picked up some groceries, and took the bus back to our campground. At the campground we made an excellent dinner of meat and cheese sandwiches, chips and salsa, and fresh pineapple that I cut up with my Swiss army knife (it's not actually from Switzerland, but I hope to buy one there when we return). After dinner we decided to ...
