As we got in fairly late, it was just time to find dinner, and then have a nighttime walk through San Marco square and along the waterfront. ... a hat, and I even took out my cell phone every once in a while like the local businessmen were doing. Many guys were carrying around satchels, which would be considered "man purses" in the US. I ran into a little bakery that had some licorice and bought a piece before our tour.

It was a great tour - we had a local guide who knew everything about the city. Venice has about 60,000 inhabitants, which is down from around 200,000 at its largest point in history. ...
