... worthy of her ‘Royal’ title; waiting to receive all her loyal subjects – all 3,600 of us!

The Royal Princess would have arrived in port this afternoon from its final Mediterranean voyage of the season. The last night of that cruise would be spent on board before disembarkation tomorrow morning (Wednesday). We will then be embarking round about 12 noon where our first night on board will be spent tied up in Venice (the ship, not ...

There was still plenty of daylight. That is the good thing about Europe in this season, it gets dark after 8pm. As many of the streets in Venice, the street outside the train station is mainly a big river/canal. We found that the easy way to get to our hotel was to catch the ...

... Just what we needed after all that walking…

The next day, armed with half of my ice cream cone, we made
our way back to St Mark's Square in another attempt to lure the pigeons.
Although, by the time we got there my cone had been reduced to a quarter of the
size as I’d been unable to resist taking little bites whilst walking along. But
anyway, the pigeons loved what was left of my ice cream cone and proceeded to
    land on my ...
