Our rooms in Chania are not quite as spacious as those in Zaros. In Zaros, we had an upstairs and a downstairs, a lounge room and an outdoor deck (we were very spoilt!).

So today, as we really don't have space to work except in bed, we are sitting at an outdoor café, overlooking the harbour, catching up on correspondence, bill payments and the blog. Oh yes, very tough :-)

We had clear blue skies for the first few days ...

Fishermen cast lines from rods and reels or with only their bare hands. I never saw anything caught by these men and after a short while, they disappeared. Taking their place were more and more families headed by men spinning and twirling what I take to be prayer beads as they walked and talked. This is, on Sunday, a very social place with most of the seats in the many outdoor cafes ...
