... with locals hanging out and some gorgeous views of the coastline. Lunch was at Gourdon and you can see from the photos it was pretty dreadful... Except for the food, the views, the beers and the people of course. The rest of the day was spent roaming the hills - stopped at a local chocolate/confectionary factory and spent a boatload more cash than I was expecting to... We had a wonderful meal in a local Trattoria where Carlo, the owner, served us and made the meal. On Saturday night we we're the only guests. The ride today was spectacular, riding down the valley with multi-thousand foot cliffs on either side. We also found grapes and apples. Both the vines and the trees were ladened to bursting with fruit. Pictures ...

    Surprising & Beautiful Trento

... However after about 5 hours we arrived at Trento. As we got closer the huge mountains became evident. This town is north of Verona and as north as we have been in Italy. Besides starting to look more Germanic, the mountains were beautiful – Trento is in the valley. It seems a wealthy agriculutural/ski resort with evident manufacturing. However, it is very clean and well cared for. Our Hotel Adige is lovely and we have great views of the mountains with a spacious room. We were ...
