    ... above Edolo, last year and remember that they advertise 'bungalows' for rent. Our 'bungalow' is, in fact, a caravan with an awning pinned on the front. But it's comfortable and warm and gets us out of the rain which has begun to fall.

    We dine on snack food and beer from the camp bar and are in bed by 9. It's been a tiring day. The weather is supposed to improve tomorrow.

    ... of time and settled in for our 2 x 1 and 1/2 hr train trips. Two things that have amazed us here are 1. The number of vineyards and grapes - they are everywhere! Soooooo many grapes, no wonder local wine is cheap here. 2. The number of castles - if there is a flat or even a small ridge or shelf up high there is a castle on it!! Our Tyrolian adventure is over as we have now travelled from North to South ...

    We awoke to a total cloud whiteout which cleared from the top down to reveal the Dolomites and then the city below. I think it is safe to say we now appreciate the positioning of these strongholds - being high on a hill. After breakfast we set off for a walk to a swimming lake, stroll along the lake and return.     We spent one week in this cosy and special hotel. We planned every evening with the owner of the hotel where to hike the day after. And every time it was a special experience. We saw a lot of mountain lakes, deers, flowers and the owner one time came with us explaining all about the area: history, geography and bothanic.
