    ... have been inside. Alot of the clothes (especially in Versace) I wouldn't have if you paid me, gold **** everywhere, great big medusa heads on things like shiny sneakers. A bit too weird for my tastes, but again its all in the experience! I also got to that statue I mentioned earlier. Leonardo!! Nice stuff.

    We wandered around the square a bit more, its actually similar in lots of ways to the San Marco Square in Venice. And of course I forgot to mention all ...

    ... long and largely incomprehensible story in Italian and broken English about a boat he was on that went to Melbourne. He seemed to like talking to me more because I could knew some Italian and he persisted to talk to me even when the others had moved away, scared by the strangeness of the encounter. Finally I managed to grasp his hand in a solid farewell gesture and assert that we must leave. He hoped to see us again...we hoped not. At least I got to practise some Italian! ...

    ... feel extremely stupid and wonder what the toll booth attendant thought of the two silly tourists. The “biglietto” is
    located in the top pocket of my shirt. We live and learn.

    We arrive back at MXP just in time to greet our family. We find that their T-Mobile telephone plan allows them to use their phone like a GPS. We load the luggage into the VW as best we can and proceed to our excellent Airbnb accommodation for night in the nearby village of Passirana.

    ... as Lisa from Copenhagen. She invited me to a bike race the next day. I didn't have much else on so decided to take a break from sightseeing and go see a different sight altogether. The bike race turned out to be a race for bike messengers from all over the world. The first race was the Cargo bikes. This was mental. They were delivering stuff (like pallets, metal kegs, boxes, people) and racing all over the park for 90 minutes ...

    ... part of the trip just factories and warehouses along this part that line the route plus it's just 4 lanes virtually gun barrel straight for the whole trip, with 4 different speed lanes from trucks doing100 km in lane one to BMW and audis in the outside lane blurring past at close on terminal velocity and there was little ole me in the bambino Lancia oscillating between lane 2 and 3 pistons almost coming out of the cylinder block, too scared to venture in the fast lane ...
