... good memory that night- a CD from the DJ! He put 130 songs on it! I've been listening to it non-stop since I left Boquete!

Sunday was a lazy day/ packing day. We went to Jill and Terry's for dinner, which only seemed appropriate to be back in the house where we spent the majority of our time on our last night. Afterward, we headed back to Refugio to pack, my least favorite thing to do. As we were packing, everyone started to show up to hang out and say goodbye ...
Alajuela, Province of Alajuela, Costa Rica jeridolp... headed down to the Osa Peninsula and again, on Nature Air...they had half price tickets for all volunteers. We took with us a volunteer paramedic, Mike that we met here in Atenas. The three of us, along with our boss, Steve, and 8 others made up the "security team". But, boy, we did a lot more than security. We got there 3 days before the event and helped set up. We did everything from help build the theater, set up the parking lot, create and ...
Atenas, Costa Rica, Costa Rica sunmoongoddess... but we didn't; we stayed uphill until the last 5 minutes it seemed of the hike and then it was a steep down hill. It was good exercise because the air was really thin and it was hard to breathe so we were workin hard. After the volcano, we got back in the bus and went to a Cofee Plantation. The tour was nice but kind of rainy. I thought it was cool how they make the coffee. We learned that 65% of the crop goes to Starbucks, who buys ...
San Jose, Costa Rica rkamish125... at 6:30pm tonight with the group and our good bye to Karen. It should be nice. We have to finalize our packing tonight as our wake up call is 5:30am tomorrow and on the road to the airport by 6:30 for our 9:50am flight. Mom has purchased the exit visa already so we can relax once we are at the gate at the airport.
San Jose, Province of San Jose, Costa Rica cartercostarica... stores, restaurants and vendors. The central market was also located there where I had the traditional meal of Costa Rica, chicken, rice, macaroni, salad and a rice pudding for $2.50. I spent the rest of the day just hanging out. I was doing e mail when an Officer in all of his gear approached and asked for my passport and if I would take it downstairs to the lobby. This is at the hostel and so I went. There were thirty of ...
San Jose, Province of San Jose, Costa Rica mikedolan... jamás. Está llena de playas inmaculadas y fauna inreíble. White face monkey/Mono cara blanca Sloth/Perezoso Toucan/Tucán Lizard/Lagarto Playa Gemelas - the most spectacular beach I have ever seen. It's the Pacific Ocean, but it looks like the Caribbean. La playa más espectacular que jamás veo. Es el mar Pacífico pero parece el Caribe. My friends and I on the perfect beach. Mis amigos y yo en la ...
San José, Costa Rica saphron234... then pour boiling water over and then it drips into a vessel below. Very cool. Very yummy. I like my coffee really hot so this suits me well. I went to a really cool butterfly exibit at the National Museum and have included a few photos here as well. The blue morpho butterfly is truly amazing to see up close and in person. It is brown on the outside with all those cool looking eye like features, and then inside it is ELECTRIC/METALIC blue. Quite a sight ...
Wir waren also startklar fuer unser naechstes Abenteuer...
Alajuela, Costa Rica eduardennicole... beautiful pool that we were tempted to sneak into.

We had some Coronas with lime and salt which really hit the spot. Pauline and Jeanette had never had Corona beer so it was a novel experience for them. The local Tico beer is not that good, and the main liquor here is rum. The power kept going out but the waitress brought candles, so we kept talking and drinking and having a good time for quite a while. When we finally left we asked about swimming if we weren't hotel guests ...
