    Hola Amigos! We made it 25km today to Puenta La Reina! We left Pamplona at 6am because we heard it would be a 38c hot day.. The highlight of the day was getting to the top of the mountain with the giant wind turbines and the giant metal pilgrams!     Well we made 24 kms... no back packs ... lots of water and it was 36 degrees. We came around the corner of the town we are staying in to find our sanctuary right there! A fantastic little alburgue with a private 2 bed room and private shower. Miguel our host notices we are limping.. dah.. and offers us blister treatments. Well ...

    This was another awesome day of spectacular scenery.

    We started out by following the route de fromage which features farms which sell the Ossau Iraty cheese. Unfortunately the ones we found were closed or so well hidden, that we never got to taste this famous cheese.
    However, we drove on along lush green valleys, babbling brooks, through forests of birch, larch and oak, past villages with clusters ...

    ... first in Burgos where I saw a couple walking across the site and thought 'I know them'. They turned out to be the really nice British couple who stayed with me on the Lagos site in Portugal. It was like meeting up with family, there was lots of catching up and laughter and several glasses of wine.
