I left Toulouse at 9 am on a cool but sunny day. Being the 1 May, traffic was almost nil. Got on the motorway direction Tarbes. To my left I could see the beautiful Pyrenees mountains, covered with snow. Somewhat concerned I started to ask myself a few questions: Are the mountains pass open? Will I be able to get through?

The advent of adventure...
... just say by day 2 I was very familiar with the pilgrimace. On the plus side, my little finger doesn´t hurt - but that´s about it. The main downside, I developed an inflamed tendon in the ankle so had to take a rest day in Pamplona. But this did mean that I had the perfect excuse to buy myself a Gandalf staff which I think is just about authentic enough to cancel out the effects of the bright pink superwoman cap I´ve been sporting.

... It’s a very cool collection of conical sections and the shapes of cones, torqued ellipses, and doughnuts. It was weird and disconcerting to walk through the shapes, much like a Euclidian dream. While we walked, we listened to an extensive running commentary by Serra where he describes his goals and thoughts, as well as a bit of the process.
