... got some really lovely presents - I'm amazed that Brendon was able to go and get this stuff without my noticing. He got me a stunning dress but I will need to go back on the 5 and 2 diet for a while before I can get into it!! There's no way it will be fitting me for the duration of this holiday unless I get some of those nancy gantz pants thingos!! After leaving Turin we drove to a palazzo called Venaria Reale - which was ...

From Pavia, we headed to Asti, Originally we were heading for a Vin Yard with the ability for an overnight stop with facilities (from our camperdstop book), sadly we got there and there was nothing so headed for our alternative Campeggio Cagnidi Asti - It was a predominately permanent vans but with a few touring pitches.

We didn't actually do anything here so nothing to report - Just a pin in the map.

Boys spent the afternoon tree surfing while Gran and I caught up on some washing, it always feels great when you have a case full of clean clothes when you are traveling.
Spritz in the local piazza with enough nibbles - that always accompany pre-dinner drinks- to feed a small family!! casual walk through town before selecting the nights dinner venue. So not looking forward to cooking when I get home!!

... selection of foods either battered or crumbed - sweet and sour. There were steaks, mushrooms, brains, apple, sweet semolina, sausages, apricot pastries, crumbed amaretti, carrots. Unusual, but tasty. Didn't try the brains...... Dessert of strawberries in sugar and lemon, with gelato, and cake of nocciole (hazelnuts).
Of course this didn't finish till well past two o'clock. The boys were interested in speaking English, two older ones are already at university and Federico ...

Today we were picked up by Giorgi at ten. Hardly recognised her as she has lost weight since last time we were here. Cholesterol problems. First stop was Rosa. There we met Luisa and her son Gabrielle. She is from Ecuador, and is married to Rosa's nephew, Maurizio. After a drink we went to Giorgi's place for lunch. Giorgi's mum Piņa and Vittorio were waiting, and Rosa came along too. Supposed to be a light lunch, but still managed to have quite a lot. I enjoyed ...
