    We celebrated our last night with Ian and Cassandra with a typical Italian meal of salad and pasta. The 'funghi' season is in full flow in Genoa and the fresh mushrooms we eat in the pasta had a marvellously intense flavour - must try to get better ones when I'm home! We also drank a very nice red called Luna Rossa, which given the 'super blood moon' we thought very appropriate.

    This morning we visited a Goat cheese & bee farm in the Maritime Alps . Evo & his family were kind enough to show us around their farm. Great experience of a very passionate farmer who is keen to re establish the old way of farming using traditional, organic methods. A lovely visit ...

    ... of cheese. We started with traditional cheese that has been reborn with the help of the slow food movement. It was fantastic to talk with the passionate producers. We also tried some burrata & watched the experts make buffalo mozzarella . Isabelle is so passionate about the slow food movement & has spent the past 3 years gaining her degree at the slow food university.
