... We were offered the company private boat to go to Burago island but we didn't have the time so it took us back to San Marco. Quick stop at hotel and then some lunch at a local pizza bar we saw yesterday. Only 2.50 euro for a huge slice of very yummy pizza. Then off for a walk around and to scope out where we need to meet for tours later. Found walking tour point ok but it took a bit to find where we had to go for gondola night serenade tour. Really stumbled across it eventually. ...

I was really disappointed with the jewellery - very fussy and blingy (not my style) and didn't like anything I saw. Consequently, I didn't buy anything. As luck had it, PV is where we finally found and rented an apartment for the up-coming month in the Chianti Region of Tuscany.

... So night one was walking to the Jewish Ghetto and enjoying sunset and evening in this magic city and having dinner in an authentic little cafe close to Ca Spezia. Thursday was cruise boarding day. With a light drizzle and a few hours to kill we decided to pace ourselves from guest house to Passenger Terminal by making stops for coffee (and WI-FI) and people watching. Boarding takes a little while so it ...

    ... is no hardship!
Once we have taken our bags to the hotel we set off a again for St Marks Square. Although we were not keen on joining the queue the other day, we are willing to give it another try. There is really just so much to see that to wander is very satisfying. For so many people buzzing around, the streets and alleys are very clean. Where there are shops or in the small squares that suddenly appear with eateries there is ...
