    Beach clean up

A travel blog entry by amzellen on Sep 30, 2014

Because the students are here and they need constant things to do, this morning we had planned to do a beach clean up as the tide washes in a lot of rubbish, woah nearly wrote trash, shows how much they're rubbing off on me. We split into two groups and set off in different directions. Me, Kim and some others set off South and I think we managed to pick the hottest and most humid day to do it. Although we were looking ...

And despite the airline (supposedly) requesting early on that our bags be sent to Costa Rica, they weren't sent. They spent all week waiting for us in BR. We went all week with just our carryons. The breakfast that came included with our room consisted of toast, orange juice, watermelon, pineapple, papayas, and strawberries. A very healthy breakfast if I do say so myself. After a great meal, it was straight to the beach for us! We waste no time out here. We went back to Playas del Coco and soaked up sun for about 4 hours (take plenty of sun block!). ...

... I saw two new species of birds just while we sat in the gazebo having coffee! The farm is three years into a ten year plan so it still has a long way to go, the owner shared his plans with me and it is going to be an amazing
place once finished. It is already amazing with two family cabins (sleeping 7 each) and a group lodge (sleeps 16) under construction the farm can house 30 people. He says they plan to build more cabins ...

    73-74: Rain?! Nope.

... had cinnamon rolls at lunch, that to me is pretty exciting to be honest. When we got back the sky got really black and a car came into the lot that had clearly been rained on. I got extremely excited because I've been wishing for rain pretty much since I arrived in Playa Coco. I stood outside very excited and it kind of spit a bit for 5 minutes. But it smelled like rain and the sky was ...
