    ... 59 kms, didn't take long to realise why. It certainly put Brendan and Fifi to the test. There were hairpin bends on narrow roads into the side of the hills with no barriers for protection.     ... cliff side with a garden hose - I also saw Alassio written on the clif side and there it was, the little access road, the small winding road down to the beach. The road I ran bare foot to tell Anna to ring the fire brigade when our bus burned.


    The camp site was gone. The access road was a private road with a gate. It was still amazing to stand there and look down on the beach I had loved so much as a kid. But I had places to go and things to do.
