    ... base with a strong fortress high on the hill encircling the town walls and protected port. We climbed up to the fort today through steep lane ways and steps.

    We are staying in an apartment with two balconies and views of the hills. It is reached by road or via steps and cobbled lanes running between the houses. It's about 10 minutes down and longer coming back with the supermarket shopping!

    ... we were drifting on water - it took a while to adjust to being back on land.
    It was also a real treat to have a shower where you could move your arms and not fall over and also flush the toilet paper! On the boat we had to put toilet paper in the bin located in the bathroom cupboard which wasnt too pleasant.

    Ice cream, cold and flu tablets and a nap and we were ready to hit the town. We had sushi for dinner ...

    ... think Draza was actually born in the house and Lila was a toddler living and playing in the streets before they immigrated to Australia.

    The Grgic house was just walls really, but you could still see the basic structure of the house. Farm animals (cows, horses, etc) lived below and family’s above.

    ... au courant de rien du tout mais nous avons eu de la chance, puisque nous avons pu profiter de plusieurs concerts et de spectacles de danse traditionnels, nous avons grignoté plein de bonnes choses le long de la promenade, et malgré la foule ce fut une soirée vraiment sympa.

    ... 2 for the drops and everything else free!! Croatia had joined the EU 5days ago!! Bloody lucky too!! All sorted and back in town after 30mins, brilliant hospital and nurses :-) There was me thinking it was end of and I could stop being a pansy and ruining the girls holiday...wishful thinking! 4 days later and no better at all! I pretty much slept my way through those few days! So i returned to the a and e and now on some ridiculously strong tablets! so far ...
