    ... wind. She stirred and scooped off the froth. Then it was poured into a 6litre plastic bottle which stood in cold water to cool before being decanted into smaller bottles. She very generously presented me with a small bottle –“To be taken anytime” – straight as a shot or diluted with water. I felt I had to
    reciprocate so parted with a few Rooibos tea bags, as they were from South Africa and Herbal! Well, ...

    ... sad. There were some blocks of flats and it was clearly once a busy hub at a crossroads. Today, there's only one occupied property that has been recently constructed, right next to the damaged buildings.Years later (20?) we could still smell the charred remains as the rain had dampened the ruins. We wondered what brought this one family back after such trauma and where were the others? ...

    We arrived at Malinska island, the largest island in Croatia.

    There is a restaurant right next to us and it is popular.

    One night Mum and Dad went to eat there and we stayed home.

    We could talk to them from the fence next to the restaurant.

    Malinska on the island of Krk was a really nice way to end our month in Croatia.


    A small seaside town around the port with so many restaurants and a cheese festival.

    Although it’s a bit ridiculous to call it a festival because there was only about 6 small stalls and only one was selling cheese.

    But there were bands playing in the evenings on the 3 nights we stayed here.
