Rijeka
On the train running close to the Croatian coastline, we passed a couple of small towns that line the shore toward Rijeka. I'd almost recommend you hop off the train a stop or two earlier, especially if you're a beach goer. Lakes and the seaside

When the sun came up we took a stroll into town and out along the wharf that extends 2km through the water. Sail boats were moored to rusty rings and schools of small fish scatter if you got too close. A bit of convincing the not so eager Amie, saw us climbing the stairs to the castle on the hill. Then as the bakery's were opening we popped in for a fresh chocolate croissant before hitting the supermarket for supplies. Simons friend Nick then arrived to travel with us for a while so once his tent was (awkwardly) pitched (despite much laughter and no help from ourselves) we headed back down to the sea.
